Ilze Opmane-Jēgere elected as a Member of the LVRTC Board for a term of five years

The Council of State Joint Stock Company ‘Latvian State Radio and Television Center’ (hereinafter – LVRTC) has elected Ilze Opmane– Jēgere as a Member of the Board with competence in the financial field from August 1st 2022. Ilze Opmane-Jēgere held the position of Member of the Management Board from 9 February of this year for a period until the end of the competition for members of the Management Board, but was appointed for the next five years at the end of the competition.

Ilze Opmane-Jēgere has been working in LVRTC since 2019, when she became the director of LVRTC‘s Department of Finance and Administration. Prior to joining LVRTC I. Opmane – Jēgere has worked in senior positions in the financial sector, including both the Head of Corporate Credit Risks at Luminor Latvia and the Head of Big Business Management at DNB Latvija as well as Head of the Transaction Support Division at Deloitte Latvia. I. Opmane – Jēgere has obtained a degree in Business and Management and studied business evaluation at the American Evaluators Association. Within three years, Opmane-Jēgere has made significant improvements to the overall planning, financial and project analysis processes and has launched a number of new information systems. Under the management of Opmane-Jēgere the development of the company’s internal culture and leaders has taken place. 

In order to ensure professional process of evaluation and selection of professional candidates, the recruitment company SIA Euro personnel took part in the competition process, as well as a nomination committee which consisted of the members of LVRTC Council, the Chairman of the LVRTC Board, as well as representatives of the Cross-Sectoral Coordination Center Republic of Latvia and Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance.

10 applications were received for the published competition for the position of a Member of the Management Board with competence in the financial field, while 22 applications were received for the position of a Member of the Management Board with competence in the ICT field. The competition was organised in four cycles.

By summarising the candidates assessments for all four cycles of the competition, the nomination committee decided to nominate two candidates for LVRTC Council to evaluate for each post of Member of the Board, indicating them in order of priority according to the result of the total number of points obtained in all cycles of the selection.
The LVRTC Council has now taken a decision only on the outcome of the competition for the position of a Member of the Board with competence in the financial field, and the evaluation of two candidates for the position of a Member of the Board with competence in the ICT field continues.
