Events at the Techritory Forum dedicated to the development of quantum technologies

Register for the largest technology and innovation event in Latvia – Techritory – and also attend the events dedicated to the development of quantum technologies.

Deploying advanced national QCI systems and networks through the project “Development of experimental quantum communication infrastructure in Latvia”

October 22, 15.00-18.00

  • As Europe prepares for the quantum era, today’s communication systems face growing risks from cyberattacks and the future power of quantum computing. Dependence on non-European technologies further undermines trust in critical digital services and weakens strategic autonomy.

The session will explore how as a result of the Project implementation, a national level experimental QKD network has been developed, including integration in the existing communications networks of the Project partners, and how the outcomes:

    – Strengthen the scientific and technological capabilities of the EU,
    – Enhance the competitiveness of quantum technologies and industry, and
    – Promote the strategic autonomy of the EU.

    Who should attend:

    – Implementing partners and stakeholders from the project
    – Policy & Government representatives
    – Industry & Technology Leaders
    – Critical Infrastructure Operators
    – Academia & Research representatives

    Organized by:

Quantum Realities:
Building Networks,
Overcoming Challenges,
Expanding Cooperation

October 23, 10.30-12.30

  • Quantum technologies are moving rapidly from theory to real-world application, and the Baltic region is beginning to play a role in this transition. As advances in computing, communications, and security accelerate, quantum technologies are emerging as the next strategic frontier that could redefine everything from cryptography to critical infrastructure resilience.

Through a mix of presentations and interactive dialogue, participants will hear updates from European quantum actors, learn about opportunities for regional and international collaboration, and share perspectives on how quantum innovation can strengthen resilience, security, and digital sovereignty.

    This side event will explore:

    – The European Commission’s strategy for quantum technologies
    – Examine the practical realities of implementing quantum networks—from technical readiness to workplace challenges
    – A presentation and discussion on the potential of the quantum internet
    – The progress of Latvia’s own Quantum Memorandum of Understanding, signed three years ago to advance national cooperation.
    – A presentation and discussion on the intersection of quantum technologies and AI

The session will conclude with an open discussion to connect stakeholders with international partners, ensuring that this conversation goes beyond national borders.

Be sure to also attend the high-level panel discussion dedicated to quantum technologies: Countdown to Q-Day – Building Europe’s Quantum-Resilient Infrastructure.

Main questions in panel discussion:

  • Quantum key distribution in public and critical infrastructure, balancing security demands with scalable network integration.
  • Integration of quantum tech into telecom infrastructure, driven by advances in computing, control systems, and hardware.
  • Software and system challenges in scaling quantum communications and the movement toward a standardized quantum internet.
  • Europe’s quantum priorities, focusing on investment needs, realistic innovation paths, and unresolved technical gaps.

The panel discussion will also be streamed live at live.techritory.com.
