Since 1 January 2014, LVRTC has been providing free-to-air terrestrial television broadcasting services. Coverage of the free-to-air programmes is available across 99.8% of the country’s territory, reaching 99.76% of the population. LVRTC provides free terrestrial TV broadcasting services in accordance with the conditions of the state delegation and under an agreement concluded with the National Electronic Mass Media Council.
Free terrestrial TV broadcasting is available to every resident of the country at no cost, provided that suitable and technically compliant receiving equipment is used. LVRTC broadcasting towers and masts are located throughout Latvia, and programmes are transmitted in both HD and SD quality. LVRTC does not provide or assume responsibility for the quality of satellite, cable television, or internet television broadcasts.
