TV AND RADIO BROADCASTING
LVRTC is the main national network operator for radio broadcasting and terrestrial broadcasting television programmes, which provides both paid and free of charge distribution of public radio broadcasting programmes, programmes of many commercial radio stations and digital terrestrial television programmes.
Radio and television broadcasting services
Currently the radio and television broadcasting networks comprise 17 radio and television stations. TV and radio broadcasting infrastructure consists of 32 LVRTC towers and masts all over Latvia.
Riga radio and television station is connected with the others by means of microwave radio-relay lines, which are also used for other communications services. Total length of radio-relay lines is approximately 1500,4 km. It comprises 60 radio-relay stations and communication points.
The existing broadcast networks, depending on the programme or the programme block to be transmitted, provide television and radio signal detection capacity within up to 99% of the territory of Latvia.
