As a result of the tests, a new Latvian record was achieved \u2013 QKD equipment operating over a distance of 138 km.<\/li>\n<li>Within the framework of the Techritory forum, a closing event of the project \u201cDevelopment of National-Level Quantum Communication Infrastructure Systems and Networks\u201d, organized by LVRTC, was held, during which partners presented the results achieved during the project.<\/li>\n<li>A three-day training on QKD and space-based QKD technologies was held, combining theoretical lectures, practical laboratory sessions, and expert-led sessions on quantum communication technologies within the training program.<\/li>\n<li>Representatives of LVRTC, TET, and the quantum sector from other European Union countries participated in a workshop organized by the support project \u201cPetrus\u201d in Brussels, where future plans for EuroQCI were discussed.<\/li>\n<li>During a training session held within the framework of the scientific conference \u201cQ-Ready 25: Kvantu-dro\u0161\u012bbas apv\u0101r\u0161\u0146i\u201d organized by UL IMCS, theoretical knowledge on post-quantum and quantum communication technologies was acquired.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<em>Information updated on 23.12.2025<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<strong>During the 3rd quarter of 2025 in the project<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>From 01.07.2025 to 30.09.2025, the following activities have been carried out:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By the end of the quarter, more than 95% of the QKD backbone network has been constructed;<\/li>\n<li>The potential of Latvia&#8217;s quantum backbone network has been identified, and a report on cross-border connection possibilities has been prepared;<\/li>\n<li>Participation of partners in the event &#8220;QCI Connect 2025&#8221;, which took place in Estonia. Identification of specific requirements and definition of test scenarios as well as review of requirements for healthcare sector data secure transmission environment and parameters;<\/li>\n<li>Initial monitoring and performance report of the deployed QKD infrastructure (Public).<\/li>\n<li>Test report of fibre feasibility of all prototype nodes;<\/li>\n<li>The planned amendments in Project plan have been compiled (to be accepted in the first quarter of 2024);<\/li>\n<li>The process of preparing and announcing procurements for the purchase of quantum equipment has been completed. As a result some of the Partners have already received equipment, but full delivery of all equipment is planned for the 1st quarter of 2024;<\/li>\n<li>The 1st scientific publication was prepared;<\/li>\n<li>In accordance with the Project&#8217;s publicity and dissemination plan, a public event has been organized and conducted. During the forum \u201c5G Technology\u201d LVRTC introduced the public with the Project and quantum technologies in general. 11 partners \u2013 &#8220;Latvia State Radio and Television Center&#8221;, &#8220;Electronic Communications Office of Latvia&#8221;, University of Latvia, Institute of Solid State Physics of the University of Latvia, Riga Technical University, &#8220;LMT&#8221;, &#8220;TET&#8221;, &#8220;Mikrot\u012bkls&#8221;, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development &#8211; signed a memorandum of understanding on the development of quantum technologies in Latvia.
