Users of eID and eSignature cards are invited to use the latest version of eSigner 3.0 and organizations to update Java eDoc libraries

Residents and organizations that sign documents with an eID or eSignature card in the eSigner 3.0 program are invited to update the program to the latest version 1.5.18. and organizations that use Java eDoc libraries to update and use the latest library version 2.6.23_01.

SJSC “Latvian State Radio and Television Center” (hereinafter – LVRTC) explains that on July 7, 2021, the latest version of Java eDoc libraries 2.6.22_01, as well as a new program eParakstītājs 3.0 was published on the portal. version 1.5.17, which introduced signature verification improvements – introduced verification for the sequence of OCSP and timestamp additions. In addition, the introduced inspection provides that documents signed after July 1, 2021, using the outdated program eSigner 3.0. versions (1.5.8. – distributed in March 2020 or older), on the portal eParaksts.lv, in the program eParakstītājs 3.0. in version 1.5.17. and also displayed as invalid on systems with the latest Java eDoc library version 2.6.22_01 installed. Additional security requirements reduce the risks associated with the validation of incorrectly signed documents. Updating the program prevents the creation of incorrect and invalid documents, however, if the document has already been signed with an outdated version 3.0 of eParakstītājs, we encourage you to make updates and sign it again. In order for the documents without the OCSP and the time stamp addition sequence check to be no longer generated, LVRTC has called for the program eParakstītājs 3.0. and Java eDoc library version updates.
